The best fit is personal.
Bespoke obedience · Everyday companionshipYour life. Their training.
Perhaps your ideal dog settles quietly beside you at a café, walks comfortably through the city and relaxes at home when the day is done. Perhaps you want a companion for countryside weekends, a busy household or life between homes.
Our trained family companion service starts with that picture. We consider any breed and build a bespoke training specification around the individual dog and the life you want to share. This is a companion service: it does not include protection training.
Trained around your world.
Composed at home
House manners, a settling routine, appropriate boundaries and calm behaviour around visitors can all form part of your brief. We agree the details around your home and the individual dog.
A pleasure to take out
Loose-lead walking, recall, attention around distractions and calm behaviour in suitable public settings. Training is built around the places and situations that matter to you.
Your personal specification
From travelling comfortably to settling beside your desk, tell us what everyday life looks like. We agree achievable goals, cues and routines, with the dog’s welfare and temperament at the centre.

At home in your world.
Good training should be felt in ordinary moments: welcoming visitors, walking together, settling while you work and finding a comfortable rhythm at home.
We discuss your household, children, other animals, travel and daily commitments before agreeing the priorities. The aim is a thoughtful match and practical skills you can continue confidently together.
Any breed. The right individual.
A family companion does not need to be a particular breed, size or type. We can consider everything from a small companion to an active sporting or working breed. What matters is the individual dog’s temperament, health, energy and fit with your household.
If you already have a breed in mind, we will discuss it with you. If you do not, we can help shape the brief around exercise, grooming, space, family life and the time you can give. A breed preference is a starting point; the right match is the priority.
A personal journey.
Your private consultation
Tell us about your family, home, lifestyle and priorities. We build a clear picture of the dog and the training that would suit you.
Your individual brief
We discuss matching, agree realistic goals and explain the proposed programme, timing and costs. The specification is personal to your circumstances.
Your life together
A planned handover introduces the cues, routines and handling your dog understands. We discuss ongoing support and the practice that keeps training part of everyday life.
Life, in good company.

Explore family protection ↗Your questions, answered.
Is a family companion dog a protection dog?
No. This service is for a non-protection dog. The focus is obedience, manners, confidence and the routines of family life. For specialist protection training, explore our separate Family protection service.
Can you work with any breed?
Yes. We consider any breed and discuss your preferences. Suitability is assessed individually: energy, temperament, health and the needs of your household are more important than a label.
Can the dog be trained to my exact requirements?
We build an agreed specification around your priorities, including the behaviours, cues and daily routines that matter to you. Goals and timing depend on the individual dog, and we will explain what is appropriate and achievable.
I already have a dog. Is this the right service?
If you are looking to train a dog you already own, our one-to-one training, canine training retreats or Intensive Boot Camp may be a better fit. Tell us what you need and we will recommend the most suitable route.
How long does the process take?
Timing depends on the dog, the agreed training goals and your handover arrangements. We discuss the proposed programme and costs privately after learning about your requirements.
What happens when the dog comes home?
We plan a personal handover so you can understand your dog’s cues, routines and training. We also discuss the support you may need afterwards. Consistency, exercise and continued practice help maintain progress.
